Volunteer at the Festival Congress
The Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) is is looking to recruit enthusiastic and friendly volunteers for the 2015 Festival Congress, to be held in Cardiff on Thursday 5th & Friday 6th November. Launched in 2014, the Festival Congress is AIF’s annual flagship event- a two-day conference and celebration of the independent festival industry. The conference will take place on Thursday & Friday at the Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) and will feature industry guest speakers over two days, exploring the key issues facing the sector with an incredibly progressive agenda and format. There will also be a festival themed evening celebration on 5th November at The Great Hall, Cardiff University. This will be an AIF takeover of the venue featuring Festival themed décor, a street food festival banquet for delegates and The Festival Congress Awards.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in an industry event, which focusses on creative and practical aspects of the festival industry, as well as an excellent learning and networking opportunity. An interest in the arts, event management, excellent communication and people skills, and a positive and proactive working attitude are all desirable attributes.
Festival Congress volunteers will be the face of the event, helping to give the best delegate experience possible by working with staff and other volunteers to maintain a well-organised, friendly and professional event.
Volunteer roles at the 2015 Festival Congress are varied, and will include:
Stewarding / Assisting with conference sessions
Stage Management & Celebration set-up
Speaker Liaison & Green Room
Box Office & Welcome
