Twickets joins forces with The Ticket Trust

08 Apr 2014

As festival season fast approaches, and the exchange of tickets increases, all tickets posted on The Ticket Trust website will also feature on the Twickets app and Twitter feed, in order to provide a safe and ethical fan-to-fan platform for ticket re-selling.

Three years ago AIF launched The Ticket Trust in association with Sandbag as an ethical alternative to the secondary ticketing market (10% cap on resale amongst other things). Ticket Trust has sold over £160,000 work of tickets for Secret Garden Party, Bestival, End of the Road and other independent festivals as well as the 2012 Radiohead tour and is now joining forces with Twickets to add to the site’s reach by 200,000 music fans.

Ben Turner, Co-founder and Vice Chair of Association Of Independent Festivals had this to say on the subject: “As we move into 2014, secondary ticketing continues to dominate the live music agenda, pushing up prices for music fans and potentially stunting independent festival growth. This partnership is a fantastic step in combating secondary ticketing and gives any tickets listed on our Ticket Trust exchange platform added exposure, to the tune of 200,000 fans!
AIF and its festival members have taken a firm stance against, and will continue to challenge, the profiteering of a select few to the detriment of the grass root festivals that we know and love.”

Music Week also featured the initiative last week.
