AIF’s Partnership with BBC Introducing 2012-2015
AIF initially collaborated with BBC Introducing at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend in 2012. Having rolled out the scheme nationally, the initiative has since seen the likes of Savages, James Bay, My Panda Shall Fly, and The Heartbreaks come through the scheme, all of which played on the main stages of AIF festivals.
The partnership existed to pair emerging artists with independent festivals, as championing new music is a big part of the festival world, and something that all of the promoters within AIF believe in. AIF and BBC Introducing came together to help open doors for the headliners of the future, working together to develop great British talent.
Fair Play For Festivals Agreement
The Fair Play For Festivals emerging artist agreement was launched in partnership with The MU (Musicians Union) at the Festival Congress in 2015.
This document is for use by emerging artists and independent festivals who are members of the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF).
