PYROTECHNICS NOW ILLEGAL AT FESTIVALS & EVENTS

The live industry has been campaigning against the use of pyrotechnics (flares & fireworks) by audiences at festivals and events for some time. As of the 4th April it is now illegal to ‘posses pyrotechnic articles at musical events’ according to the Policing and Crime Bill 2017. Artist and event promoters will not be prosecuted for possession but anyone in the general audience found with a flare or other explosive device could face a maximum sentence of 51 weeks in prison.
