News Editor - NME

Andrew Trendell

| Session: State of Independents panel, Event Suite, 12:15-13:00 | Starting out as an award-winning local journalist in Nottingham and Lincolnshire, Andrew became a champion for music at a grassroots level. He would soon go on to become Deputy Editor then Editor at Gigwise, later working as a producer and consultant with BBC 6 Music before arriving at NME as News Editor in 2016. Since then, and particularly throughout the storm of the pandemic, he’s led the NME’s coverage to fight for the survival of festivals, venues and live music – holding the powers that be to account while also rallying support among NME’s millions of readers to help keep live music alive.
