AIF yesterday announced that tickets for The Festival Congress have officially sold out.

The 2 day conference and awards ceremony aims to celebrate the festival industry in the form of panels, discussions, networking and an awards ceremony and afterparty. Awards categories include the Mind-Blowing Spectacle Award, New Festival on the Block and the Emmet Brown Award for best use of technology at a festival.

The ceremony is to be hosted by Ben Challis (Glastonbury) and will feature an introduction by Huw Stephens (BBC Radio One) and Bethan Elfyn (BBC Radio Wales).

There will also be showcase performances from talented emerging Welsh music acts Baby Queens and Gabrielle Murphy, in connection with AIF’s exciting partnership with the BBC’s Horizons scheme.

Claire O’Neill, senior manager of the AIF and chief organiser of The Festival Congress, said: “It’s been a moving experience to witness organisers of some of the best festivals around highlighting what they love about other festivals, the most impressive things they’ve seen, their favourite moments, and the people that they hold in high esteem for giving an incredible contribution in one way or another. These awards are a reflection of the respect and appreciation felt amongst the festival community.”

Tickets for the afterparty at The Glee Club are still available here. DJs include Huw Stephens, Rob da Bank, Madame Electrifie, Chris Tofu and Count Skylarkin.
