BEHIND THE SCENES OF GOING MEAT & FISH FREE AT SHAMBALA
Shambala Festival made the bold decision to go meat and fish free in 2017 in an effort to spark up conversations around ‘moving us toward the ability to make positive, informed choices about how we impact other people globally today and in the future.’ For a festival made up of 70% meat-eater attendees this was a risky route to wander down but they were met with largely positive responses from everyone – attendees, staff, traders and the media. Only two people asked for a refund and they sold out the festival in record time. Shambala co-founder Chris Johnson has just published a piece on Festival Insights detailing their meat & fish free journey in an effort to share the surprising benefits of such an initiative.
