AIF presents 'Festival Fever' - An initiative highlighting the cultural and economic impact of independent festivals.

AIF members participating in the campaign will all wear a digital badge across social media stating 'Proudly Independent' and we have also launched 'AIF TV'- a dedicated YouTube channel for member events. Watch the trailer here.

You can also catch Festival Fever- We are hosting a competition for the best fan footage shot at an AIF member festival in 2014. The winner will receive an 'Ultimate Festival Ticket' giving them access to as many AIF member events as they can attend in 2015.

In addition, AIF are publishing various statistics which illustrate the economic impact of AIF members: including that from 2010-2014, our 50 member festivals generated an estimated £1bn for the UK economy- over £80m of which was spent along the supply chain at local business. Interestingly, 49% of those interviewed in a 2014 audience survey stated that they chose an independent festival over taking a holiday last year. 58% cite the “general atmosphere, overall vibe and character of event” as the single most important factor in attending a festival. 8.3% cite "headline acts" and 21.5% "the music generally"- illustrating the broad, multi-arts experiential offering of AIF member events.
